AI for Restaurants

AI & automation for independent restaurants operators.

Independent restaurants run on tight margins and customer relationships that the big chains can't replicate. The owners we work with don't need an enterprise restaurant tech stack — they need targeted tooling around the highest-leverage moments: reservation conversion, waitlist UX, third-party platform reconciliation, repeat-customer comms. Done right, these are the difference between a 2% net margin and a 6% net margin.

Who this is for

The restaurants operators we work with

  • Independent restaurant operators with 1-5 locations
  • Family-owned restaurants where the owner is still in the kitchen or front of house
  • Operators on Toast, Square, or Clover POS
  • Restaurants doing meaningful volume via DoorDash, Uber Eats, Grubhub alongside dine-in
Where you're losing money

The four highest-cost workflows in restaurants

Reservation calls drop during peak service because the host stand is buried
Cost: Lost dinner covers at $40-80 a head — typically 5-10 dropped reservations on a Saturday = $200-800 in nightly revenue
Third-party platform fees + reconciliation eats hours of owner time per week
Cost: 30-40% platform fees plus 4-8 hours/week of bookkeeping reconciliation that should be automated
Repeat customer comms (birthday, anniversary, slow Tuesday flash) inconsistent
Cost: Lost regulars who feel forgotten + missed in-house demand on slow nights
Waitlist UX is paper-based or whispered — customers walk out when wait times aren't clear
Cost: Walk-out rate 10-15% on busy nights when proper waitlist + SMS would reduce it to 3-5%
What we'd build for you

Three surgical tools that ship in weeks, not months

Build 1

Reservation + waitlist unifier

OpenTable, Resy, phone calls, and walk-ins all in one host-stand view. SMS waitlist with accurate quoted times. Walk-outs drop and the host stops triple-booking 7pm Saturday.

Time
3-4 weeks
Price
$2,500-$6,000
Build 2

Third-party reconciliation autopilot

Pulls DoorDash / Uber Eats / Grubhub sales and fees into your accounting daily, with line-item categorization. Owner stops doing weekly four-hour reconciliations.

Time
3-5 weeks
Price
$3,000-$7,000
Build 3

Regular-customer comms sequencer

POS data identifies regulars (3+ visits/quarter). Auto-comms on birthdays, anniversaries, special menus, slow-night flash invites. Drives in-house repeat traffic that doesn't pay platform fees.

Time
2-3 weeks
Price
$1,500-$3,500
Stack we typically build around

We integrate — we don't replace

  • Toast, Square, or Clover (POS)
  • OpenTable, Resy, or Yelp Reservations
  • DoorDash, Uber Eats, Grubhub (third-party delivery)
  • QuickBooks Online or restaurant-specific accounting
  • 7shifts or Homebase (scheduling)
Frequently asked

Common questions from restaurants owners

Will you replace my POS?
No. Toast/Square/Clover are good enough for the core POS function. We build the analytics, reconciliation, and customer-comms layer that they don't do well on their own.
Can you handle third-party delivery reconciliation?
Yes — this is one of the highest-ROI builds for an independent restaurant. Most operators are leaking margin because they can't actually see what each platform earns net of fees in real time.
What about online ordering on my own website?
We can wire your own ordering (typically via Toast Online Ordering or a custom Stripe-based flow) so you capture margin you'd otherwise pay to DoorDash. Best for higher-AOV concepts.
Do you work with multi-location operators?
Yes. Multi-location adds complexity around per-location P&L, staffing, and customer data unification — exactly the kind of work where automation pays back fastest.
